Support Your Fort Scholarships
The Fort Saskatchewan & District Chamber of Commerce and the City of Fort Saskatchewan are pleased to announce the creation of two new scholarships benefitting Fort Saskatchewan residents who have graduated in 2020 or students of any age who are registered and attending post-secondary education in the 2020/2021 school year for the purposes of retraining.
This scholarship program is an extension of the “Support Your Fort” partnership between the Chamber and the City. Part of this partnership included relaunch kits for businesses, which has two I Support The Fort masks, among other items. The feedback about the relaunch kits, specifically the masks has been very positive, with many of the businesses and the community at large looking to purchase masks to show their support of the Fort.
The scholarships will be made possible through the sales of the I Support The Fort masks which can be purchased at Tarts N’ Tiques Boutique, and donations to the scholarship fund. Tarts N’ Tiques can be found in Eastgate Plaza, 8818 111 Street. Bulk orders can be made through the Chamber via an email to email@example.com.
“We are thrilled to be able to give back to Fort Saskatchewan on behalf of the business community through this scholarship program,” said Tamara Dabels, the Chamber’s executive director, “This is our way of saying, thank you for supporting your Fort! We would also like to thank our member Tarts N’ Tiques for offering their location for the sale of the masks, making them accessible to all residents.”
Upon learning of this initiative, an anonymous member of the Chamber has also stepped forward to donate $500. When asked why this member felt so strongly about supporting this scholarship initiative, she quoted Marian Wright Edelman “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.”
If other community members would like to contribute to the scholarship fund, please contact Tamara Dabels at firstname.lastname@example.org.
