    Event Description:
    Join us as Sarah Penny of the Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Corporation (CKPC) provides an update on their project. CKPC is a 50/50 joint venture between Pembina Pipeline Corporation and Petrochemical Industries of Kuwait. CKPC is developing the Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) and Propylene (PP) Plant in Sturgeon County. This Plant will convert 23,000 barrels/day of propane to 550,000 tonnes of PP pellets per year.

    Sarah Penny is the Manager of External and Community Affairs for the Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Corporation, a 50/50 joint venture between Pembina Pipeline Corporation and Petrochemical Industries of Kuwait.  CKPC is behind the development a $4.5 billion petrochemical plant, to convert propane to polypropylene pellets, to be constructed in the Alberta Industrial Heartland in Sturgeon County.  Early works activities are currently ongoing for the Project.
     
    Sarah has over 25 years of experience in environmental permitting, approvals and government interaction, development of remedial programs and coordination of environmental requirements for greenfield and brownfield developments.  She has managed the environmental and permitting aspects of over 500 projects, including award winning urban projects to approvals for pipelines, disposal and waste facilities to sulphur base pad clean-ups and reclamation/closure of oil and gas facilities. She has the ability to develop strategic environmental permitting to high-level strategies for site reclamation and facility closure, and has extensive experience in the overall management of environmental site clean-up, as well as management of large environmental programs.
     
    Sarah holds a B.A.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph and a M.A.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Ottawa.  In her spare time, Sarah is a marathon runner and works with MitoCanada, a Canadian charity focused on mitochondrial disease.
