SUMMARY:Members Meeting - Edmonton Eskimos: Staffing Engagement in the 21st Century
DESCRIPTION:Brooks Miller and Scott Murray from the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club will be talking about Staffing Engagement in the 21st Century. Hiring and managing employees is much different then it was 10-15 years ago. Effectively engaging employees is a major key to fostering a positive team environment and retaining quality employees.\n\n\n\nBrooks Miller:\n\nBrooks got his start in business and sports at a young age. After bowing out of college baseball with a shoulder injury\, he turned his focus to operating his landscaping business. While owning and operating his business he was a full-time student and coached baseball\; three years at the high school level and three years at The University of Iowa as an undergraduate assistant. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports & Recreation Management\, with a business track focus.\n\nAfter graduation\, he moved to Minnesota and worked in a sales position with a residential restoration company before taking a position with The Minnesota Twins Baseball Club. After the 2018 season\, he moved to Peace River to marry his wife and in November of 2019 took a position with the Eskimos Football Club in their Business Development office.\n\n\n\nScott Murray:\n\nScott Has a long history in the sports business world. He worked for over six years within the Oilers Entertainment Group as a manager of their corporate partnerships team. He then moved into a Senior role with the group\, where he oversaw the corporate partnerships department. In 2012 Scott took a role with the University of Alberta\, filling the role of Director of Advancement. He served in that position until 2014 when he made the move over to the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club\, where he became Vice President\, Ticket Sales and Service. Scott will be going into his sixth season with the club and is excited to see what opportunities lie ahead.
