The Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce capped off an incredible weekend, bringing the community together for the Chamber Career & Hiring Expo on Friday and the Chamber Spring Market on Saturday—both buzzing with energy, strong attendance, and meaningful local connections!
The Chamber Career & Hiring Expo was filled with opportunity, bringing together 50 exhibitors from a wide range of industries and welcoming approximately 600 attendees!. Presented by Spectre Systems and supported by event sponsors the Royal Canadian Navy and Heartland Coatings Ltd., the expo created a dynamic space where job seekers and employers could connect, explore, and discover exciting career paths across the region.
We kicked off the expo with a morning of programming, giving exhibitors the opportunity to take in a series of engaging and informative presentations. Exhibitors heard from Careers: The Next Generation and Careers Under Construction, both of which highlighted pathways into in-demand trades and future career opportunities for youth and job seekers alike. The morning also featured a workshop led by Beyond Diversity, offering valuable insight into inclusive workplaces, collaboration, and the importance of diversity in today’s workforce. Together, these sessions set an inspiring tone for the day!
An exciting addition to the expo was the Women in Business Committee’s Dress for Success initiative. Made possible through the support of The Threaded Nest Consignment and Co-operators, with additional support from Twice But Nice, the experience gave attendees access to professional attire—helping them feel confident, polished, and ready to step into new opportunities. Adding to the experience, The Nest Collective: A Runway for Resilience brought a fun and inspiring element to the event. The runway showcase highlighted career-ready looks from a variety of industries, paired with helpful workplace tips and styling advice, creating an engaging and informative experience for attendees.
The momentum continued into Saturday with the Chamber Spring Market, which welcomed over 1,250 attendees and featured more than 60 vendors. With an exciting blend of local businesses, artisans, and makers, the market created a lively hub where attendees could shop, mingle, and discover something new.
A huge thank you to event sponsors Life in the Heartland, TELUS, and Black Cat Design, who sponsored the Money Tunnel, giving attendees the chance to win “Market Bucks” to spend with vendors—adding excitement and encouraging support for local businesses.
The Chamber extends a sincere thank you to the many volunteers who dedicated their time and energy throughout the weekend. Their support was instrumental in the success of both events.
With strong attendance, meaningful connections, and community spirit on full display, the Chamber looks forward to what will be an exciting Summer!
