Chamber Participates in Building Resilient Supply Chains Roundtable at Fort Distillery

The Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce was pleased to participate in the Building Resilient Supply Chains strategic roundtable held this morning at Fort Distillery in Fort Saskatchewan.

Organized by David Rist, Manufacturing Consortium Manager with EMC Canada, the roundtable brought together stakeholders from Alberta’s food, beverage, and distillery sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing local manufacturers and producers in an evolving trade environment.

Representing the Chamber, Executive Director Colin Fagnan joined business leaders and economic development professionals for a productive discussion focused on supply chain resilience, market diversification, and the impacts of tariffs and trade uncertainty on Canadian businesses.

Participants explored a range of topics including sourcing challenges, packaging supply chains such as cans and bottles, opportunities to expand into new domestic and international markets, and the importance of supporting home-grown Alberta businesses. The conversation highlighted the adaptability and resilience demonstrated by local companies as they continue to navigate shifting economic conditions and changing trade relationships with the United States.

The Chamber was also pleased to connect with representatives from Invest in Canada, including Mark Gallant, as well as Stephanie Budynski, Senior Economic Development Officer with Strathcona County. The event provided valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration among industry stakeholders.

Following the roundtable, attendees were treated to a tour of Fort Distillery, gaining first-hand insight into one of the region’s notable entrepreneurial success stories. The Chamber extends its thanks to Nathan Flim and the Fort Distillery team for hosting the event and showcasing the innovation and growth taking place within Alberta’s Industrial Heartland.

The Chamber remains committed to supporting local businesses, fostering connections between industry leaders, and ensuring the voice of our business community is represented in discussions that impact economic growth and competitiveness.
