AI in the Heartland: A Sold-Out Success in Lamont

The Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce was proud to host a sold-out Lamont Lunch & Learn—marking our very first event in Lamont and an exciting step in strengthening connections across our region. With more than 40 tickets sold, the day brought together business owners, community leaders, and elected officials for a dynamic and forward-thinking conversation on how artificial intelligence can be leveraged to strengthen and grow local businesses.

We were honoured to welcome Philip Wala, Lead AI Integration Engineer with the Provincial Government’s Department of Technology and Innovation, as our featured speaker. Wala delivered an engaging and insightful presentation that explored what AI means for small and medium-sized businesses in communities like ours—and how it is already being utilized throughout Alberta.

We extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors — ATB Lamont, Lamont County, and the Town of Lamont — for their generous support to make this event happen.

We were grateful to have strong representation from elected officials from both the Town of Lamont and Lamont County, along with several members of our Chamber Board of Directors. Their presence underscored a shared commitment to economic development, collaboration, and ensuring our region is equipped for continued success in the years ahead.

With a full room, engaged participants, and inspiring takeaways, AI in the Heartland was a tremendous success. As our first event hosted in Lamont since our amalgamation, we couldn’t have asked for a better welcome—and we are already looking forward to coming back!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this impactful Lunch & Learn. Together, we are embracing innovation, supporting one another, and ensuring our region remains resilient, competitive, and ready for what’s ahead!
