The Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the 2026 Mayor’s Luncheon: State of the City Address — presented in partnership with the City of Fort Saskatchewan. The sold-out event brought together 135 registered attendees, highlighting strong community engagement and regional support (despite adverse weather)!
The audience reflected a diverse cross-section of leadership, including elected officials from Fort Saskatchewan and over a dozen surrounding municipalities. In addition to board members Tamara Dabels, Melissa Saretsky, Mikael Sarkozi, and Pierre Lautischer, we were joined by local business leaders, chamber members and community stakeholders. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration and shared vision in shaping the region’s future.
The event was emceed by Chamber Board Member & Treasurer Tamara Dabels and attendees also heard remarks from distinguished guests, including MP Garnett Genuis, Tina Warawa on behalf of MP Shannon Stubs, and Jess Arsenault, who delivered remarks on behalf of MLA Jackie Armstrong-Homeniuk. Our very own Executive Director Colin Fagnan also offered a quick update on the Chamber, highlighting the amazing growth of our chamber network after a revamp in 2025.
At the heart of the event was Mayor Lisa Makin’s first State of the City Address. Mayor Makin provided a thoughtful and forward-looking overview of Fort Saskatchewan’s progress, priorities, and opportunities. Her address reflected a strong commitment to sustainable growth, economic development, and community well-being. She spoke to both recent achievements and the path ahead, emphasizing collaboration, and resilience. Guests also enjoyed a delicious meal provided by our lunch sponsor Ken's Catering.
The Chamber extends its sincere gratitude to the City of Fort Saskatchewan for their sponsorship, to all City Councillors who also attended the event in support of Mayor Makin, and to all speakers and attendees for their participation.
