Tamara Dabels | Executive Director
My love of business and entrepreneurs began when I was a student at the U of A. During the summers I worked with the Canada Saskatchewan Business Service Centre where I helped entrepreneurs access vital information to begin a business and existing business owners access grants, marketing information, specialists etc. After graduating from the U of A with a BComm, I started my career with RBC in Grande Prairie as a Business Account Manager.
Since that beginning, I have been blessed to have a number of business experiences, from rental property management, to most recently, fund development with charities. I have worked with a broad scope of industries, from retail and hospitality to agriculture, forestry, oil and gas.
After the birth of our second child, my husband and I moved to Fort Saskatchewan – over 14 years ago. At that time I was working from home. While at home I took on a number of volunteer positions in our community, including an executive position with the Legacy Park Family Festival committee. Volunteering in my community, a city that I love, is very important to me. I believe in service above self and will continue to work on behalf of those that need our help.
I am so honoured to be the Executive Director of the Fort Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. It is a true privilege to work on behalf of the incredible business community that we have!
Alana Seymour | Marketing & Membership Manager
I come to this position with 10 years of sales experience and hold a marketing and graphic design diploma. My career started as a Graphic Designer at the Edmonton Sun, I quickly gained interest in the sales division; from there I became an Account Executive. Here I was able to help small to large customers grow their business by assisting them with their advertising needs. Following the Edmonton Sun I worked in the Consumer Packaged goods industry for various liquor distributors. This role allowed me to work hands on with independent and chain liquor stores to grow and develop their business.
Coming from a military family, we moved around a lot but I have been proud to call Fort Saskatchewan my home for 20 years now. My husband Ryan has lived here his whole life, when we had our daughters we knew this was the place where we wanted to raise our family. You can always find us out partaking in the amazing community events throughout the city.
Erin Duncan | Sales & Events Coordinator
I come to this position with a background in community revitalization, project management, and non-profit administration. Along with master’s degrees in both architecture and historic preservation, I have specialized training in adaptive reuse strategies, community action and development planning, and project facilitation. I have years of experience in community engagement, special events, and volunteer management. I look forward to using these experiences to benefit the business owners and community of Fort Saskatchewan.
Our family relocated to Fort Saskatchewan from the States in August of 2017. Although it might take a few years to get used to the winters, we are loving our new hometown! My family (husband Kyle, and daughters Reese and Eliana) loves all of our local events, activities, and festivities. When I am not at the Chamber, you can find me coaching TimBits soccer, walking my dogs, or in line for a much-needed coffee!
