  • Marcie Mazurenko | Executive Director

    Born and raised in northeastern Alberta, Marcie has been involved in non-profit organizations for most of her life. From a young member of her local 4-H club, to serving as president of minor hockey, volunteering and executive directorship roles for other non-profit organizations, Marcie brings vast knowledge and experience to her role as Executive Director. She has a track record of success in fundraising, board governance, event planning, as well as marketing and communications. After completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Marcie worked in economic development and tourism. Her business acumen will prove beneficial in supporting the members of the Fort Saskatchewan and District Chamber of Commerce. Outside of work, Marcie enjoys spending time watching her kids pursue their favorite activities, rodeo and hockey, as well as volunteering, gardening, reading and traveling. Marcie is looking forward to meeting our members and continuing to grow the Chamber through collaboration, connection and support.

     

     

    Karen Collins | Chamber Associate 

    Karen is no stranger to Chambers of Commerce coming to us from the Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce and having been an active Chamber member as a business owner herself. Karen brings perspective and experience from across many sectors from tourism and hospitality to the oil and gas industry. As a former business owner, Karen understands the impacts of decisions made locally, provincially and federally and is a tireless advocate for supporting local business. If you have any questions or need assistance Karen is your “Go To” person for all your membership needs

    When Karen is not working, she loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her large extended family and her cat, George. She loves country life and her newly adopted community. She is no stranger to smaller and rural communities having lived 17.5 years north of 60 (Yellowknife and Whitehorse), 10 years in Fort McMurray and the past 3 in Lac La Biche. She has some great stories.

     

     

    Maritza Meneses-Leach | Business Connect

    Maritza Meneses-Leach is an experienced professional with a degree in Administration from the University of Tepeyac in Mexico. Maritza worked at the National Chamber of Commerce in Mexico City prior to moving to Winnipeg  in 1999 after marrying her husband Norman Leach. Soon after, they moved to Alberta, their home for over 24 years. Maritza and Norman have two daughters Stephanie (Captain of the Varsity fencing team at RMC) and Chelsea (Trap Shooter with the Edmonton Gun Club). 

    Maritza has over 20 years of experience in office administration, marketing, tourism, event planning, security and non-for profit industries. She has worked in the insurance industry for three years and has a license for Life, Accident and Sickness Insurance. As an operations and office manager, she has overseen the day-to-day operations, accounts receivable, payables, payroll, supervised teams with three to 14 people, managed a four-story building and the operation of up to eight departments. Maritza is bilingual (Spanish and English).
