The 2024 Farmers Market: A Summer You Won't Want To Miss
Summer is here, and with it comes the much-anticipated 2024 Farmers Market! This year, we have an incredible lineup of events, vendors, and themes that make our market a must-visit destination for the whole community. Here’s a look at what’s been happening so far and what exciting events are still to come.
Opening Day: A Fantastic Start
Our opening day was a huge success, thanks in part to our generous sponsor, Vivid Vision. The market was buzzing with excitement as families, friends, and neighbors gathered to kick off the summer season. With a wide variety of vendors offering fresh produce, handmade crafts, and delicious treats, there was something for everyone. We were thrilled to give away 1,000 hotdogs, adding to the festive atmosphere. Below is a picture of Vivid Vision reading the land acknowledgment on the opening day market, as well as making hotdogs for our visitors.
Weekly Sponsors and Highlights
Weeks 2 to 5 have been equally thrilling, with each market day bringing new experiences and sponsors. On June 13th, sponsored by DOW, the market continued to thrive with an array of vendors and lively crowds. Fort Sask Reno Inc. took the spot as our sponsor on June 20th, adding even more vibrancy to the market atmosphere. Despite the pouring rain on June 27th, AbEx Health Services Ltd. sponsored a resilient market day that proved our vendors and patrons are dedicated, rain or shine. Canada Day Celebration
A massive highlight of our market season so far has been the Canada Day Market. This special event was a great success, with remarkable attendance and a festive atmosphere that brought the Fort Saskatchewan community together. It was wonderful to see everyone celebrating and enjoying the day with family and friends. Below you can find a picture of the packed market on Canada Day.
Community Spirit and Vendor Variety
Five weeks into the market, we are proud to host over 70 vendors offering a diverse range of products. From fresh fruits and vegetables to unique handmade goods, our vendors ensure there is something to delight every visitor. Themed weeks have been a hit, providing a fun and festive atmosphere that keeps the market exciting and engaging. So far, we’ve celebrated Opening Market, Pride Week, Indigenous Peoples Day, Celebrate Summer, Canada Day Market, and Fresh Fruit & Berry Week. Upcoming Themes to Look Forward To
As we move further into the summer, we have an exciting lineup of themes and events planned for the coming weeks. Get ready for Western Week to gear up for the Lamont Rodeo, Family Fun Day, Christmas in July, IPA/Beer Day, Dog Rescue Day, Community Group Celebration, Dunk Tank Day, Corn Roast Day, and AB Culture Days. Each themed week offers unique activities and attractions, making the Farmers Market a dynamic and enjoyable experience every time you visit!
