OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUÉ – 2025 Municipal Election Results
The Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce extends its heartfelt congratulations to all candidates who put their names forward in this year’s municipal elections. Running for office requires dedication, courage, and a commitment to community service, and we commend every individual for their efforts throughout their respective campaigns — regardless of the outcome.
We especially wish to congratulate Lisa Makin on her election as Mayor of the City of Fort Saskatchewan. Mayor Makin is no stranger to our organization, having served as President of the Chamber of Commerce from 2016 to 2017, and we look forward to continuing our strong partnership as we work together to foster a thriving business environment in our region.
We also wish to recognize Gale Katchur for her remarkable 15 years of service as Mayor. Her leadership and long-standing dedication have left an enduring mark on our community. We are pleased that she will continue to serve the residents of Fort Saskatchewan in her new role as City Councillor, and we look forward to continuing to work alongside her and all the other councillors.
Finally, the Chamber congratulates all newly elected and returning officials across our broad regional area, including those serving in Lamont County and neighbouring municipalities. We look forward to collaborating with each official to strengthen our local economy, support our entrepreneurs, and ensure a prosperous future for the businesses and communities we collectively serve.
