      COVID-19 Update:

we would like to assure you FortisAlberta is still powering on. As an essential service provider, we continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust accordingly. FortisAlberta is taking the necessary actions and precautions to protect the health of its employees and ensure its ability to continue to provide safe and reliable service for you, our customers. Our approach is proactive to reducing exposure and helping protect the health and safety of all employees and our customers during this time.

FortisAlberta’s electricity distribution system is working as expected and currently there are no issues in responding to outages or storm situations. As the world changes around us, we are continually evolving plans, and monitoring and communicating our business continuity activities with our partners and contractors as it relates to their ability to fulfill service requirements

FortisAlberta continues to complete essential services as scheduled, has its own construction crews and there have been no interruptions in construction of new services. For our large industrial customers there are currently no stoppages in work on any projects. You may see us out in your community but rest assured we are taking all necessary precautions related to limiting the spread of COVID-19.

We recognize our customers are now counting on us more than ever. Last week we announced a $100,000 donation to organizations throughout our service territory that best serve the most vulnerable during this time. The donations will support local food banks, women’s shelters, Indigenous communities and other local organizations providing support where there is the greatest need.

We invite you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. You can also keep updated on our latest news at www.fortisalberta.com.
